Governance
Introduction
This section covers information relating to the way the institution is governed and how decisions are made. It includes information on the legal status of the institution, which individual member of staff or group within the organisation is responsible for specific functions and where they fit in the overall structure of the organisation. In some instances information will be exempt from disclosure where it contains personal information, information that may damage the commerical interests of the institution or that may threaten the health and safety of specific individuals.
Legal Framework
The Institution is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, with the duties laid upon it by charity and company law. It is governed as described in the Memorandum and Articles of Association as approved by the Privy Council and Charity Commission. It is also treated within the public sector as a Higher Education Institution, subject to a financial memorandum issued by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) in respect of public funds and any other funds received by the Institution.
Trinity Laban is recognised as a provider of Degree Courses under the Education (Listed Bodies) Order, which is available on the DfES website.

The quality of the Institution's courses are reviewed by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), and information and institutional audit reports are available from the UNISTATS website.
