The London Knowledge Transfer Awards 2008 London Knowledge Transfer Awards 2008

KnowledgeEast as joint sponsors with West Focus are pleased to support the London Development Agency's London Knowledge Transfer Awards 2008.

We represent a consortia supporting more than 200,000 Higher Education students.  HE students are tomorrow’s entrepreneurs, graduating in disciplines where self-employment and start-up are commonplace,

from design to physiotherapy to law. Supporting students’ enterprise ideas is key for all of us. As a result we are delighted to sponsor the category for Entrepreneurial Spririt.

The Entrepreneurial Spirit Award is to identify and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of students whilst in education.  The judges are looking for candidates who have developed a business idea, ideally focused on their research, which is entrepreneurial in nature.  This could be a student placement in a London based company or it could be a business start-up managed during their own time.

The candidate will need to demonstrate that they have made a positive impact on the capability for innovation and that the project was profitable involving problem solving: adapting existing products for new markets or developing new ones.  Entrants must demonstrate that they were key to the project implementation and that it has had a positive impact on their development.

The other awards are for Knowledge Base Collaboration; Collaborative Innovation Excellence; Environmental Sciences Award; The Knowledge Transfer Champion; and Commercial Deal of the Year.

If you are interested in finding out more about nominating your organisation or a student for the awards please contact Peter Owens on 020 8305 4316, powens@trinitylaban.ac.uk .
