Having completed his term of office, (Lord) David Lipsey, Chair of Trinity Laban Board of Governors is due to stand down later this year. Our Board is therefore now looking to appoint his successor at what is a particularly exciting and significant time for Trinity Laban.
The Chair is responsible for the leadership of the Governing Body, ensuring the highest standards of Governance and probity, overseeing the strategic mission, direction and affairs of Trinity Laban by providing guidance, support and constructive challenge to our executive leadership. The Chair will ensure that the necessary business is carried out efficiently, effectively and in a manner appropriate for the proper conduct of the public business. S/he will act as an ambassador for Trinity Laban, raising its profile and promoting its mission at every opportunity.
Our next Chair will have a proven track record of success and breadth of experience at the most senior levels as leader; ideally well-networked in both the private and public sectors. With a passion the performing arts and a commitment for the aims of higher education and the specific values and mission of Trinity Laban s/he will be a strategic thinker with a strong intellect and sound judgement combined with an open-minded, collegiate approach and good communication skills. The new Chair will command respect internally and externally. The capacity to represent Trinity Laban effectively and to lead, develop and shape our Governing Body to ensure effective governance and an understanding of the appropriate interaction between the Executive and Non-Executive are essential.
