Promoting excellence in community practice
Trinity Laban is the only institution where intensive, conservatoire-level art form training sits alongside applied study in community dance and music.
The Teaching Musician Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma provides professional development and specialist training to those working in music education. Trinity Laban is dedicated to promoting world class leadership, and encourages all students to develop their skills across a wide cross section of performing and teaching disciplines. The Teaching Musician sits alongside the long-established and very highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Community Dance, which allows dancers to study artistic development, dance leadership, professional practice and the skills required to lead and work in community dance.
As well as training innovators in music education and community dance practice, these courses exist to set an authoritative standard professional practice in a sector where the skills have traditionally been learnt on-the-job. In addition, The Teaching Musician includes elements such as remunerated internships, mentoring and intensive weekends of study and is designed to fit flexibly around existing work commitments, allowing students to undertake professional development around their teaching and performing.
