External Examiners are a key element of our quality assurance
processes. They help to ensure that:
- assessment methods are appropriate and measure student
achievement against the intended outcomes of the
programme
- assessment is fair and just, operated in line with the
institutional regulations and - for validated provision - those of
the validating university
- appropriate academic standards are set and
maintained
- standards are comparable with similar awards conferred by
other institutions
External Examiners also contribute to the development of
programmes and our learning and teaching practices.
