Biography

Charli Baptie graduated in 2013 with MMus in Vocal Performance. She won the Director’s Prize for Excellence and was Highly Commended in the Trinity Laban Gold Medal Competition. After graduating she joined the UK tour of West Side Story, playing the role of Rosalia and covering Maria.

Charli has performed a diverse range of roles including Phyllis in Iolanthe (Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company), Noémi in Cendrillon (Blackheath Opera), Edith in The Pirates of Penzance (Charles Court Opera), Dodo in The Merry Widow (Philharmonia Orchestra led by John Wilson) and the title role in Peter Pan at Norwich Theatre Royal. She was a featured soloist for Friday Night is Music Night: Ivor Novello Special on BBC Radio 2.

In 2015 Charli joined the cast of Phantom of the Opera in London’s West End, covering a variety of roles and in 2018 she joined the UK tour of Wicked covering the role of Glinda.
