Perhaps the highlight of my time at Trinity Laban was working on the commissioned projects in third year. It was refreshing to be seen by artists coming into the school from the outside, and to be given opportunities to work within a new set of parameters.

Biography

Janine Harrington graduated in 2006 with a BA (Hons) Dance Theatre. Since graduating she has worked as a choreographer, performer, artist and writer. Her choreography explores interactivity and play in live encounters between a mobile audience and performers and is often performed in outdoor places, galleries and studios.  She has received commissions from AIR & Islington Borough Council, Big Dance, Siobhan Davies Dance and The Hepworth. Janine has performed in the Venice Biennale in a work by award-winning artist Tino Sehgal (Germany) and is currently working with Fleur Khani (Belgium). She has also worked as choreographic coordinator on Henrietta Hale’s large scale 2014 work Routes to the River. Janine is a member of the Siobhan Davies Dance artist and curator mentorship scheme and works with Siobhan Davies’ Dance Youth Programme. She has also delivered workshops for The Place CAT scheme, Swindon CAT, The British Museum, Corali Dance Company and Trinity Laban's dance summer school, amongst others. Janine returned to Trinity Laban to study on the Specialist Diploma in Choreological Studies, graduating in 2012.
