Programme Entry requirements English language requirements How to apply
Diploma in Dance Studies Entry requirements reflect that the programme is designed for people with a variety of experiences and backgrounds.
Professional experience (not necessarily in dance), a first degree or other relevant qualifications are accepted.
You will need to show strong motivation and demonstrate on the application form how the programme will support your personal and professional development.
British Council IELTS at Band 5 (General English Test) or above, the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English I or the Pearson Test of English (score of 39 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012.
Postgraduate Diploma Community Dance You will normally have professional experience, preferably in dance, community or social work and/or have a first degree (or an equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject. You must show aptitude for dance study at interview and audition. British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 25 May 2012 for entry in September 2012.
You will be invited to an audition and interview at Trinity Laban.
Independent Study Programme Entry requirements reflect that the programme is designed for people with a variety of experiences and backgrounds.

Study Year Abroad You must currently be studying on a course overseas and aiming to achieve credits from your studies at Trinity Laban.
Other entry requirements are flexible due to the range of options and different levels at which components are offered.
You will need to show strong motivation and demonstrate on the application form how the programme will support your personal and professional development.
British Council IELTS Band 6 (General English Test) or above, a TOEFL score of 560, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (Grades A or B), the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English II or the Pearson Test of English (score of 52 or above). Graduate School

Programme Entry requirements English language requirements How to apply
MA Dance Performance You must have been accepted into Transitions Dance company (see above).
You will normally have an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification).
British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form. Early application is recommended as audition places are limited.
You will be required to attend an audition/interview in April/May. If successful, you will be invited to attend a second audition, usually in June, at which the final selection is made.
MA Choreography You will normally have choreographic experience and/or have an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification). British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012.
You will need to supply a DVD of work that you have created, including: a solo, a group work and a rehearsal, class or workshop in which you are an active participant.
The DVD should also include commentary on the process of devising/creating the works shown and how you solved any problems you encountered.
MA Dance Theatre: The Body in Performance You will normally have professional dance, theatre or performance experience and have an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification). British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012. If you are a performance practitioner, you will need to supply a DVD of work that you have created, which should include reflective commentary on the process of devising/creating the works shown.
If you work in another art form, you will need to provide evidence of your practice in an appropriate form, e.g. portfolio, which should include critical reflection on your creative process.
DVDs should include commentary on the process of devising/creating the works shown and how you solved any problems you encountered.
MA Performance Design You will normally have experience in design, dance or performance and/or an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification). British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012.
You will need to provide a portfolio of your design work.
MSc Dance Science You will normally have professional dance experience and/or an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification). British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012.
MA Creative Practice You will normally have professional dance experience and/or an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification). British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012.
Depending on the modules chosen, additional material may be required, such as a DVD of work that you have created.
MFA You will normally have professional dance experience and/or an appropriate first degree (or an equivalent qualification). British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test, normally with a score of at least 7 in listening, reading, speaking and writing), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C); the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III or the Pearson Test of English (score of 67 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 2 July 2012 for entry in September 2012.
Depending on the modules chosen, additional material may be required, such as a DVD of work that you have created.
MPhil/PhD You will normally hold a good master's degree (or an equivalent qualification). In some cases, you may be considered with a good honours degree and/or substantial professional experience. Specialist Study Opportunities: Continuing Professional Development

Pilates Teacher Training Programme You will normally have prior knowledge or training in movement or dance studies.
You will have taken a minimum of 25 Pilates sessions at Trinity Laban or elsewhere prior to the start of the programme.
When enrolled on the programme, you will be required to:
• become a student member of the Pilates Foundation
• participate in workshops
• take up other relevant training options as and when they occur
• have personal and public liability insurance cover
British Council IELTS Band 6 (General English Test) or above, a TOEFL score of 560, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (Grades A or B) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English II; or the Pearson Test of English (score of 52 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 30 May 2013 for entry in September 2013.
You will need to provide evidence of a satisfactory level of performance in a Pilates practical session conducted at Trinity Laban and show a serious commitment to study Pilates and a positive attitude to the opportunities and demands of the training at interview.
Studio Teacher Bridging Programme You will have successfully completed one year (minimum) mat work training accredited by an accepted Pilates organisation.
You will have taken a minimum of 25 Pilates sessions at Trinity Laban or elsewhere prior to the start of the programme.
You will have a current first aid certificate and a sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Prior knowledge and training in dance are desirable but not essential.
When enrolled on the programme, you will be required to:
• become a student member of the Pilates Foundation
• participate in workshops
• take up other relevant training options as and when they occur
• have personal and public liability insurance cover

Dance Notating
You will have practical dance experience combined with knowledge and understanding of Laban notation to intermediate standard. British Council IELTS Band 6 (General English Test) or above, a TOEFL score of 560, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (Grades A or B) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English II; or the Pearson Test of English (score of 52 or above). Specialist Diploma:
Choreological Studies
Contemporary Developments in Rudolf Laban's Principles and Practice
You will have prior knowledge of Laban Studies or Choreological Studies, or a practice-based BA (Hons) in movement or dance studies with a movement analysis component, or a Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS) qualification or equivalent professional experience. British Council IELTS Band 6 (General English Test) or above, a TOEFL score of 560, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (Grades A or B) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English II; or the Pearson Test of English (score of 52 or above). Please complete an application form no later than 30 March 2012 for entry in Spring/Summer 2012.
Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People) Entry requirements reflect that the programme is designed for people with a variety of dance experience and backgrounds. You will normally have completed dance training that is equivalent to degree level that ensures you have appropriate dance knowledge, skills and understanding. However applicants with other relevant qualifications or no formal dance qualifications but significant dance experience can apply. We welcome applications from practitioners across a range of dance styles.
Minimum age for undertaking the qualification is 18 years.
British Council IELTS Band 6 (General English Test) or above, a TOEFL score of 560, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (Grades A or B) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English II; or the Pearson Test of English (score of 52 or above). Please complete an application form and Training Needs Analysis (TNA) form available online on the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People) page (under How to Apply). On receipt of your application form, the Professional Development Manager will contact you to confirm your training route: Full-course, Fast-track or Mentoring ONLY. Applications can be made throughout the year but start dates for each unit of study will vary and can be obtained on line or from Trinity Laban.

 

Please note that a minimum number of students is necessary for a particular programme to be offered in any given year. If this number is not reached, Trinity Laban reserves the right to suspend the programme.
