MA Applications: Technique Training

Please note that technical training (practical technique classes) is not provided as part of the specification nor funded within the modular fee structure of the majority of Masters Programmes.
"Students have the opportunity to study with eminent teachers in
a variety of dance techniques, preparing them for the diverse world
of contemporary dance practice. Choreographers want to work with
students who are technically advanced, versatile and able to
contribute creatively in the making of dance work - our graduate
successes are testament to the exceptional quality of the training
they receive here."

Please check on the programme specification in which you are
interested if this applies to your choice. However, if you so wish
you may elect on the application form to join a course of technical
classes on payment of a supplementary fee, (as listed in the
current fees leaflet). These classes are NOT provided as an award
bearing course of study or training, but they will be levelled by
audition during the initial induction week and do form a coherent
set of classes. They will be a 90 minute contemporary (modern)
based class, held Monday to Thursday at the start of the day for 10
weeks for each of three terms (120 classes). You will be joining
students from other programmes at Laban for this which is another
opportunity to share experience and learning from others.
Alternatively evening classes offered by the Education and Community
department are available and a range of professional classes are
also offered at our partner organisation Greenwich Dance, located some 15
minutes walk away.
