Junior Trinity – a Saturday School for 3-19 year olds
From Trinity Teenies aged 3 –5 right through to university and conservatoire entrance, it is our aim to kindle a lifelong interest in music and to give our students the opportunities to develop to their maximum potential. Many students go on to study music when they leave us but equally there are those who may choose another career path. We nurture the individual regardless of his or her aspirations.
Junior Trinity is a hub of activity each Saturday in term-time with a melodious melée of sounds emanating from our home in the Heritage site King Charles Court. Venture inside and you will hear an array of individual performances, chamber music, jazz, orchestras, choral groups and much more. We encourage students to play in ensembles right from the start and to unleash and develop their creativity with composition and improvisation. Our successful GCSE and A level classes in Music and Music Technology are popular with students who may not be able to take these courses at their schools or colleges. We organise holiday courses, orchestral tours, private house concerts, festivals, and large-scale concerts in prestigious venues. And now we have the added bonus of working with our partner Laban to explore music and dance collaborations; this is a unique artistic and educational opportunity.
Saturdays at Junior Trinity are intensive but fun. We encourage our students to aim for high standards and commitment but we also provide the environment for them to form lasting friendships with like-minded peers.
Do come to one of our termly Open Days and experience the ‘musical high’ that our students talk about.
I look forward to meeting soon.
Marion Friend, Director of Junior Trinity
I just wanted to write and tell you what a wonderful year my daughter has had at Junior Trinity. She has loved every single minute and is so appreciative of all the opportunities offered by ensembles and concerts. Her attendance has opened up many opportunities for us as well. We are also struck by the friendly atmosphere, super receptions and strikingly wide range of music presented.
