Transitions Tour Comes To A Close.
13 June 2011

Transitions Dance
Company brought their highly successful UK tour
to a close this month with three fantastically well-received
performances at the Bonnie Bird Theatre. The company performed
works by Lucy Guerin (Australia), Martin Nachbar (Germany) and
Melanie Teall (UK). Transitions performed, for the first time in
the company's history, to live music played by the outstanding
Tamesis Quartet, who met as students at Trinity Laban. The
musicians played London-based composer, producer and record label
founder Gabriel Prokofiev's compositions for string quartet. Award
winning and emerging British composer Lucy Smith's original
soundscape accompanied Martin Nachbar's piece. Lucy is currently in
her final year of study for a BMus (Hons) in Composition at Trinity
Laban. Congratulations to all involved on delivering such an
exemplary collaborative enterprise between the Music and Dance
faculties.
