On 1 October, audiences can enjoy Ladies and Gentlemen, a brand new work from Trinity Laban alumnus Lea Anderson.
Renowned for founding forward-thinking dance companies The Cholmondleys and The Featherstonehaughs in the 1980s, Anderson’s signature quirky pieces are often performed in unconventional spaces. She has created several dance works for film, and received an MBE for her services to dance in 2002.
Anderson’s return promises more of the colourful charm, eccentric design and boundary-blurring style dance watchers have grown to love her for. Ladies and Gentlemen features six established Welsh performers in character, desperately attempting to recreate a beloved music hall performance before it disappears from memory.
Lea Anderson graduated from Trinity Laban in 1984. She has worked with Trinity Laban students on a number of occasions over the years, most recently this July, when she created a new work for final year undergraduate performers in the Laban Theatre.
Ladies and Gentlemen is showing at The Place at 8pm on 1, 2 and 3 October. For tickets, please visit The Place’s website.
