International vocalist Rodney Earl Clarke returned to Trinity Laban this week to give a masterclass to vocal students. The class follows his successful collaboration with Trinity Laban students in scenes from Stephen McNeff's The Last King of Scotland at the Royal Opera House last spring.
Hailed by Gramaphone as "...a singer to be watched...'', Rodney is recognized for his versatility, ranging from Bach, Handel and Mozart to Jonathan Dove, Dominique le Gendre and Errolyn Wallen. He has participated in television projects for the BBC and Channel Four including the award winning BBC Flashmob:The Opera and as a special guest for BBC Four's coverage of Beethoven Missa Solemnis Prom 2011.
Future engagements include Carmina Burana at the Barbican and his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic as Jake in Porgy and Bess under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle.
