Alumni celebrate as Barrowland Ballet is nominated for Critics’ Award

Barrowland Ballet, founded and artistically directed by alumnus Natasha Gilmore, has been nominated for a Critics’ Award for Theatre in Scotland.

The Pine Tree, Poggle and Me, which Barrowland Ballet co-produced with MacRobert Art Centre has been nominated for the Best Production for Children and Young People. Fellow alumnus Vince Virr is also featured in the production.

The Critics’ Award for Theatre in Scotland was first set up in 2002 to celebrate the best Scottish theatre achievements of the year. The event will be held at the Tron Theatre on 14 June 2015, and will be judged by a panel of journalists and experts.

Many Trinity Laban alumni go on to careers as practitioners, artists and leaders in both dance and music. Trinity Laban also has one of the highest employability figures out of all UK higher education institutions - almost 99 % of our first degree leavers in 2012-13 were in employment or further study six months after graduation.
