A few of the latest achievements of our amazing alumni -

Edgar Cardoso (MMus, 2014) won a 2nd Prize and the Special Prize for the best Chopin interpretation at the Belgrade Chopin Fest Competition in Serbia (26-27 February). Edgar performed Chopin’s Berceuse op. 57 in front of 1000 people at Kolarac Concert Hall, the biggest concert hall in Serbia.

Alumnus Ayanna Witter-Johnson (BMus, 2008, pictured) is named Amati magazine’s ‘Young Artist of the Week’ (19 March). Ayanna is a composer, singer and cellist and has toured with Anoushka Shankar and performed at the Tete-a-Tete Opera Festival, and two independent EP’s.

Manu Delago (Postgraduate Artistic Diploma, 2011) recently performed at Carnegie Hall with Björk as a drummer and Hang player, and is also on a New York Residency with the Icelandic singer. In April Manu will release his new album followed by a 40 date European tour.

Choral conductor Howard Arman (1976) has been named as the new artistic director of Bavarian Radio chorus Bayerische Rundfunk, taking up the post in-2016. Howard, 61, is presently music director at the Lucerne theatre and symphony orchestra. He succeeds Peter Dijkstra.
