BalletBoyz welcomes alumnus Charlotte Pook

Charlotte Pook

Trinity Laban alumnus Charlotte Pook has just accepted the highly esteemed position of Rehearsal Director for acclaimed dance company BalletBoyz.

Founded in 2001 by ex-Royal Ballet dancers Michael Nunn OBE and Billy Trevitt OBE, BalletBoyz has become a global phenomenon, touring both nationally and internationally. It has since won numerous awards, including the National Dance Award for Best Independent Company in 2013.

In her new role, Charlotte will be working alongside renowned choreographers Pontus Lidberg and Javier de Frutos on two brand new creations for the company’s 2016 UK tour. In addition, she will be rehearsing BalletBoyz for their American tour, presenting works by Alexander Whitley and Christopher Wheeldon.

Describing her experience of study at the conservatoire, Charlotte says:

“My experience at Trinity Laban was very informative, and I had some very influential teachers who gave me the foundation to be the artist I am today. I was lucky enough to work with two fantastic choreographers during Commissioned Works, as well as having a very fulfilling year in Transitions Dance Company.

After completing my MA in Dance Performance, I stayed on at Trinity Laban as Graduate Intern for Teaching Technique, which enabled me to develop my own technique practice and teach across all of the programmes. This experience led me into teaching company classes with various companies including BalletBoyz, and I am extremely honoured to be their new Rehearsal Director.”
