On 1 December 2015, Trinity Laban celebrates #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving.
Following the UK’s recent adoption of Black Friday and the online shopping boom of Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity to unite in showing the world why it’s good to give. Launched in the UK in 2014, the foundation has gone global, with participants including the US, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.
One of the ways friends of Trinity Laban can make a difference is through our Scholarship Fund. The Fund helps talented young artists at Trinity Laban, regardless of income and personal circumstances.
In the current economic situation, many students have to struggle to make ends meet in order to live in the capital. To ensure students can accept their highly coveted places, Trinity Laban offers scholarships to those with exceptional talent. Unfortunately, the conservatoire is currently unable to award as many as it would like, leaving some top students no choice but to turn down their place.
Award-winning pianist Gen Li, scholarship recipient and postgraduate student, says: "It was such an honour for me to be chosen for a scholarship. The support has taken away any worry about the cost of tuition, and has made it possible for me to follow my dream."
