The Trinity Laban Chamber Choir will feature in a live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 at 2pm on 15 December in Berlioz's luminous retelling of the Christmas story, L'enfance du Christ.
The choir, forming the off-stage semi-chorus, will join the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican. Led by French conductor Francois-Xavier Roth, they will also be joined by the BBC Symphony Chorus, and soloists Karen Cargill, Yann Beuron, Marcus Farnsworth and Christopher Purves.
The Chamber Choir held their London debut concert at St Alfege in Greenwich on Thur 5 December. Conducted by Stephen Jackson, the programme included Jonathan Harvey,Come Holy, Ghost, Charles Villiers Stanford'sLatin Magnificat, Op 164and Ralph Vaughan Williams,Three Shakespeare Songs.
Stephen Jackson is one of Britain's foremost choral directors. He has directed the Chamber Choir since 1990 and built it into one of the most active ensembles of all the London conservatoires, performing on BBC Radio, at the BBC Proms, at all the major London concert venues and on tour in France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.
