Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance has just kicked off an exciting new season of dance classes for adults.
Throughout spring 2016, Trinity Laban plays host to a series of adult dance classes in a range of styles. With something for all tastes, options include yoga, classical ballet, contemporary dance, street dance, contemporary jazz and Pilates-based conditioning. Several of the classes are set at varying experience levels, so participants can find something catered to their ability.
Taught in the RIBA award-winning Laban Building, home to Trinity Laban’s Faculty of Dance, the adult dance class programme offers participants the enviable opportunity to take advantage of the conservatoire’s world class facilities. Most of the classes feature live music, which even experienced dancers may not have had the chance to enjoy before.
“The adult dance class programme is a brilliant mix of classes and levels,” Laura Woods, Programme Manager for Learning and Participation (Dance) at Trinity Laban, tells us. “Our skilled teachers will get your year off to a positive start with lots of encouragement and challenges, all within a warm and friendly environment.
“If you’ve always fancied trying a contemporary class, or missed out on ballet as a child, now’s your chance. Both have a beginner’s level option.”
Laura adds that the Contemporary Jazz class is a particularly great way to warm up and work out. “It’ll make the dark nights at this time of year a bit more palatable!”
One previous participant told us: "I’ve loved going to evening classes – they’re a chance to disengage from your desk, check in with your body and move!"
