A cast of five dancers perform a moving and intimate piece that explores the nature of human experience at the Laban Theatre on Thursday 19 March.
At times light and playful, at times stark and entrancing, Israeli choreographer Hagit Yakira’s …in the middle of you is a moving piece that examines personal stories of love, friendship, loss and life, energy and physicality to take us to a more muted and abstract experience that becomes highly intimate. Uplifting and inspiring, the choreography is an emotional poem of everyday life.
The intimacy of the work is further heightened as Hagit has invited members of the public to share their own personal experiences, including photos, songs and thoughts on what being in the middle means to them. The stories shared will be used to develop the piece.
Hagit Yakira Dance creates work where storytelling, intimacy, dance and text are uniquely interwoven into an individual interpretation of inter-human relationships and emotions through dance theatre and performance. Hagit Yakira founded her company in 2007 and has since gone on to tour the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and Israel.
