International music festival gets underway in Greenwich

Greenwich is resonating with the sounds of "strings and things" as the Royal Greenwich String Quartet Festival returns today for this major celebration of the genre.

Trinity Laban will welcome hundreds of music lovers from the UK and overseas over the next three days at the historic Old Royal Naval College site.

Tickets are selling strongly, particularly for the world premiere of Deirdre Gribbin's formative piece, "Hearing the Genes Evolve", and for the first appearance at the Festival for the world's most renowned period-instrument quartet, Quator Mosaiques, who are performing on Friday night in the beautiful ORNC Chapel.
