Trinity Laban’s world class performance space, Laban Theatre, will open its 2015 Spring dance season with the first ever UK appearance by the sensational K-Arts Dance Company (Korea National University of the Arts) on 28 January 2015.
The company performed to rave reviews this summer around the world and will perform a triple bill which offers a unique melding of modern contemporary dance and Korean culture.
Another highlight will be the much anticipated music and dance collaborative festival CoLab in February. CoLab is Trinity Laban’s two week festival, where 800 students from both the music and dance faculties get together to develop ideas, experiment and collaborate and then share their work.
Wendy Houstoun will perform her witty and defiant piece, Pact with Pointlessness, described as being “standup meets vaudeville eccentricity”. Back by popular demand is Hagit Yakira’s…in the middle with you; as well as Co Motion, an inclusive youth dance platform, and Lewisham Live.
Mirella Bartrip, Director of Dance at Trinity Laban says: “Our venues hold a significant cultural offering not available anywhere else in London. Audience members are offered to a diverse mix of high quality professional shows.
“The UK is at the forefront of contemporary dance practice, and it is truly wonderful to profile such innovative and exciting work in the Laban Theatre for our audiences.”
