On Saturday 8 November, six hundred children from South East London had their full dress rehearsal for a very special performance at the Royal Albert Hall - the Music for Youth Schools Proms on Wed 12 November 2014.
Nearly 400 school children - from 15 schools from Southwark, Greenwich, Lambeth and Lewisham Music Hubs - joined 200 other students from Trinity Laban’s Animate Orchestra and Junior Trinity, Trinity Laban's Saturday school for young and gifted musicians, at Deptford Green School.
Together they form the South Riverside Music Partnership Massed Ensemble, and will give a dynamic performance at the last night of the Schools Proms with an exciting new piece by composer Kerry Andrew, The London Breed, inspired by Benjamin Zephaniah’s poem.
The students will join thousands of young people from around the UK for the Schools Proms, which start tonight (Monday 10 November) and finish on Wednesday.
