Students and staff from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance are taking part in the 2014 Inside Out Festival from The Culture Capital Exchange.
A record 55 events will take place during the festival, which runs from 20 to 26 October and reflects the enormous and eclectic range of exciting artistic endeavours being produced by London’s higher education institutions.
The Festival is promoted by The Culture Capital Exchange, a membership network of higher education institutions that exists to create inspired collaborations between higher education, cultural and creative industries and businesses, large and small.
Highlights from Trinity Laban include masterclasses by the Carducci Quartet (Trinity Laban’s Quartet in Residence) and pianist Paul Komen; a 21st birthday celebration for Contemporary Music for All (CoMA); and an evening of specially commissioned dance works by acclaimed choreographer Lizzie Kew Ross and others.
Suzie Leighton, Director, The Culture Capital Exchange, says: “We are delighted by the quality and range of speakers and events which will form this year’s Inside Out Festival. This is our fifth year and we are really looking forward to shining a light on the remarkable work of our member organisations such as Trinity Laban. It is incredibly stimulating to work with such a wide variety of academics, artists, performers and speakers and to celebrate and share the vast contribution they make to the cultural and intellectual life of the capital.”
Trinity Laban’s Director of Music, Dr Claire Mera-Nelson, says: “The Inside Out Festival is embraced by Trinity Laban’s staff and students as a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent, and demonstrate the power of art and culture in enriching all our lives.”
