Music student wins Charlton House Concert Society Music Award

Charlton House

Trinity Laban first year BMus Performance student Peter Athans has won the 2013 Charlton House Concert Society Music Award Scheme. Peter's prize includes a solo spot with the brass band and an opportunity to curate and devise a concert at Charlton House.

Sixteen Trinity Laban students participated in the preliminary round of the competition in November 2013, with five progressing to the final in January. Peter played the trumpet for his performance of Believe me if all those endearing young charms and Percy Code's Caprice Zelda and received the most votes from the packed audience at Charlton House.

Curating a concert there this summer provides Peter with the experience of devising a wide ranging programme of solo and ensemble work.

With weekly Friday lunchtime concerts held at the beautiful Jacobean Mansion the local Charlton community is no stranger to classical music.
