Following sell-out performances of Oklahoma! The Musical by first year musical theatre students, and rave reviews for Our House, Trinity Laban's finest showbiz artists of tomorrow continue to wow audiences with the start of the run of The Witches of Eastwick.
Last week, Stratford Circus jumped to the sounds of 1980s ska as Trinity Laban's second year musical theatre students gave Our House a "sparkling revisit". Theatre director Kate Golledge described the production as "a chaotic whirlwind of delight and saxophony", full of "many wonderful surprises".
Reviewer Jonathan Baz this week praised the consistently high standards of acting and direction demonstrated by the Trinity Laban students:
"[Director] Sarah Redmond crafts a cracking musical. [Lead actor] Sion Warner effortlessly masters both the humble and the arrogant personae of Joe in a quality performance enhanced with split second costume changes that wow with technically timed perfection…[meanwhile] it is the company around him that create his world, and the lively London that Redmond sculpts from her cast is impressive.
"The production reflects a very talented bunch of students that have been led by an inspirational creative team. This show deserves a wider audience and Trinity Laban's next production is eagerly awaited."
Baz won't have long to wait, as final year students will bring The Witches of Eastwick to life tonight at Stratford Circus. The culmination of three years of hard work by these talented musical theatre students, Witches promises to be the most spectacular show yet.
