Trinity Laban MMus Jazz graduate Peter Edwards has released his debut album with The Peter Edwards Trio. Released on 31 March, Safe and Sound has received a three star review from The Guardian.
Winners of the prestigious Development Award from the Musicians Benevolent Fund, The Peter Edwards Trio have grown their reputation over the past number of years as they received a three star review from Jazzwise in 2010 and have performed at prestigious London venues including Kings Place. In addition to growing the reputation of his trio Peter has established himself as writer, arranger and sideman for artists including The Nu Civilisation Orchestra and Zara McFarlane.
Conveying a range of moods and rhythms, Safe and Sound executes a vintage jazz soulfulness that resonates with modern times. The Guardian describes the album as a "sensitive, impressive debut from a rising piano star. Edwards' energetic playing- full of emphatic chording, Latin grooves and romantic cinematic themes- at times invokes Ahmad Jamal or McCoy Tyner"
"I am currently putting together UK dates for the autumn winter period. I am thrilled with the response to the album so far and am keen for my music to reach as many people as possible. "
