Born in Uzbekistan, Naufal (above) began his piano studies at the age of seven. He completed his BMus (Hons) in piano performance at Trinity Laban under Head of Piano Deniz Gelenbe. Naufal was awarded a Loveday Scholarship for 2013-14 and is studying for his Postgraduate Diploma under the scholarship.

The Loveday Scholarship was founded in 2010 through an endowed gift, establishing one of the most prestigious scholarships at Trinity Laban. This highly competitive award is available on an annual basis, to a postgraduate student studying or proposing to study at Trinity Laban, who demonstrates exceptional talent, but who is in need of financial support to continue his or her studies. The Loveday Scholarship is available to UK and international music students.

Madelaine Jones -117

Madelaine Jones (above) won third prize in the Norah Sande Award 2014, beating out 14 other semi-finalists with a final programme of works by J.S. Bach, Stravinsky and Farrenc. Held in Eastbourne, the Norah Sande Award, now in its ninth year, has been enabled by a substantial bequest from the late Norah Sande, in memory of her Grandmother, Alice Mary Caffin, to encourage and support young musicians at the start of their careers.

Madelaine said: "I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new pianists and hearing such a broad range of repertoire and approaches to playing. Even though my time at Trinity Laban is now over, this was a great first step out into the professional sphere and I intend to start preparing for, and am looking forward to, playing in plenty more competitions in the future."

Pablo Alvarez Delgado won a professional CD recording after placing well at the Premios a la Excelencia Fin de Carrera from de Fundacion Padella in Galicia. This follows his winning the Premiere Challenge Cup at the North London Festival.

Lucy Murphy also recently won the recital class at the Ealing Festival.
