The Students' Union-run annual RAG Week has started with a series of events in aid of Talitha Arts.
The week will see Bake Sales, a quiz, a Salsa Night, a performance from the Morgan Brothers Big Band and the Trinity Laban Students’ Union raffle, with a chance to win a pair of theatre tickets worth £100.
All the money raised will go to the Students’ Union chosen charity, Talitha Arts. Using music and dance therapy as a rehabilitation tool, Talitha Arts is a non-profit organisation which works with children who have suffered from sexual exploitation, oppression and abuse. Talitha Arts facilitates a safe place for victims to express their feelings and encourages them to explore positive emotional qualities, finding a solution to obstacles and giving them new perspectives.
Katrina Wilson, the Students’ Union President says: “RAG Week is an essential part of our work at the Students' Union. Our chosen charity, Talitha Arts, is doing great work through the medium of music and dance therapy, and we wanted to support a charity that aligns with our students' work on a day-to-day basis.”
