The Trinity Laban autumn 2016 orchestral season gets underway on Friday 2 October with the first of a new series of Side by Side concerts.
These ever-popular concerts once again provide an invaluable opportunity for students to work alongside highly experienced orchestral musicians, while exploring masterpieces of the orchestral repertoire. For the opening concert of the season, we welcome members of the Philharmonia Orchestra for a selection of Prokofiev ballet music. Later concerts include Brahms’ Symphony no 1 plus a performance of Berlioz’s Harold in Italy, featuring celebrated violist (and Trinity Laban professor) Roger Chase as soloist.
Another orchestral highlight this autumn is an 80th birthday concert for distinguished French conductor Diego Masson, who will be directing the orchestra in an energising programme that includes Shostakovich’s Symphony no 11.
