Trinity Laban staff and students recently ran a popular stand in the Barbican Exhibition Hall for the 3rd annual Music Education Expo, organised by Rhinegold Publishing. The Expo brought together more than 2,000 musicians, teachers, music tradespeople and students from 12-13 March 2015 for back to back seminars, information stands and CPD opportunities.
Trinity Laban’s stand attracted a whole range of interested people, from prospective students, parents and teachers to researchers, international music professionals and alumni.
Alexis Hutchinson, second year BMus viola player (pictured), says: “I particularly enjoyed speaking to alumni from years ago, back when the Conservatoire was based in Mandeville Place, and in turn share my experiences of Trinity Laban life in Greenwich now.
“It was also very useful in terms of where my career might go. One alumnus has started a charity that goes into schools to do workshops that support the curriculum, which is something I’m very interested in, so I will keep in touch with her.”
The Expo was a great space for exchanging ideas and discussing new opportunities for learning and collaboration, and proved to be a fruitful and enjoyable experience for all.
