Theatre alumnus gets rave reviews for charisma, humour and energy

Natalie Harman, Trinity Laban graduateAs government figures out this week revealed that nearly 99% of Trinity Laban graduates are successful in finding work or going on to do more study, alumnus Natalie Harman showed that her own showbusiness career is going from strength to strength.

Natalie graduated in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre, with skills across acting, singing and dancing - but it is clear that her real passion is for the theatre.

She is appearing as Pompeia in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure at the Union Theatre in Southwark throughout July; and is also taking on the role of Sally Jessop in Stand Up - The Musical at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, Mersey, in September. She has also been lucky enough to work with wonderful talent including Catherine Tate and Gary Kemp earlier in the year.

West End Frame said: "A standout performance comes from Natalie Harman as Pompeia. She seduces the audience with her enormous stage presence"; and The Public Review said Natalie, as "...chief slattern Pompeia Bum", oozed "charisma and innuendo".

Born and bred in South East London, Natalie began performing at a young age. She left school at 17 and studied for two years at Greenwich Musical Theatre Academy before coming to Trinity Laban.

"I do love the theatre, and I've had an amazing time since graduating so far, with roles that have really stretched me. But it can be a challenging business, as we all know. I really believe that it takes a lot of hard work and determination to do well, and grabbing any opportunity that arises is important.

"Trinity Laban made me realise that it isn't about waiting around for things to happen, it's about getting out in the big bad world and meeting people, getting involved and making things happen."

Natalie is a reflection of the many alumni success stories from Trinity Laban. In July 2013, HESA statistics showed that 98.9% of Trinity Laban undergraduates were employed or in further study six months after graduating - the second highest ranking out of 151 higher education institutions across the country.

You can see Natalie in Measure for Measure until 27 July
