This year’s Foundations for Excellence conference, entitled Meeting the Challenges of Excellence in Music and Dance, is hosted by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance on Monday 2 November.
The conference includes an exciting programme of presentations by leading educators and researchers. Delegates will hear from a wide range of authoritative, expert speakers, who will address topics such as Teaching Models in Music and Dance, Stress and Anxiety and Self-Awareness. Professor Roger Kneebone will give the keynote address, while other speakers include Trinity Laban staff members Dr Naomi Lefebvre Sell and Dr Emma Redding. The day concludes with a performance of music and dance by students from Trinity Laban and other music and dance institutions.
Rachel Rist, Director of Dance, Tring Park School of Performing Arts, says: "I have always found the Foundations for Excellence conferences to be informative, provocative and stimulating. The upcoming conference will challenge existing pedagogical practices and propose innovative methods of nurturing excellence among young dancers and musicians and I look forward to being part of those exciting debates."
Foundations for Excellence aims to nurture and support talented young dancers, singers and musicians by sharing research and best practice. This is the fourth in a series of biennial conferences, all of which are supported by online resources at the Foundations for Excellence website.
