Trinity Laban Signs Progressive Agreement with Lewisham College
Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance has signed a historic progressive agreement with Lewisham College's dance department brokered by the Creative Way Dance Network.
The agreement builds on strong existing ties between the two institutions and aims to ease the College's students through the transition to higher education. Dance students from Lewisham College will now be guaranteed an audition at Trinity Laban subject to meeting entry point criteria. Plans are also in place to further align curriculum topics and for staff to share their expertise to the benefit of both dance faculties.
Anthony Bowne said: "It's great that we're now formalising our
relationship; some of our finest students have come from Lewisham
College over the years, people from Lewisham are at the leading
edge of our art form."
Principal of Lewisham College Maxine Room says, "This is an exciting development in our relationship and we know that behind this is our mutual desire to see students succeed in achieving their goals and aspirations in making a career in the world of dance."
Lewisham College dance tutor Rebecca Henry-Litteck added: "Students from Lewisham have always aspired to Trinity Laban as place of vocational excellence and many, having studied there, have gone on to forge successful careers in dance as teachers, choreographers and dance animateurs."
