Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance has announced its 2016 dance season at its world class performance space, the Laban Theatre.
The season includes a performance from award-winning artist, Trinity Laban graduate and choreographer Andreas Constantinou. British born Constantinou – who was selected for Aerowaves16 as one of the 20 most exciting choreographers in Europe – is currently based in Denmark, but returns to the UK for a double bill performance of ReDoing GENDER 1.5 and The WOMANhouse.
Commissioned by Trinity Laban, Zoi Dimitriou will be presenting The Chapter House, an interdisciplinary dance piece featuring intricate choreography by Dimitriou coupled with a video installation. This is the third presentation at the Laban Theatre for this beguiling, ever-developing work.
In March, dancers Eleanor Sikorski and Flora Wellesley Wesley – aka Nora – present an evening of new works created especially for the pair by the likes of Liz Aggiss, Simon Tanguy and acclaimed duo Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion.
Additionally, The Greenwich Dance and Trinity Laban Partnership will be presenting the London Regional Platform of U.Dance 2016. U.Dance is the Youth Dance England’s National Youth Dance Festival, which seeks to increase the number of youth dance performances and support those who organise them.
Audiences can also enjoy performances from our BA Contemporary Dance students, and from local schools and community groups from across the borough with Lewisham Live.
