Throwing the Body into the Fight, the first English language publication dedicated to acclaimed German choreographer and performance maker Raimund Hoghe, was launched last week. The book has been curated and edited by Trinity Laban staff member, Mary Kate Connolly, Programme Leader for the MA Creative Practice in the Faculty of Dance. Martin Hargreaves (Programme Leader for MA Dance Theatre: The Body in Performance), also contributed a chapter.
Raimund Hoghe was once the dramaturg for Pina Bauschʼs company and is an artistic collaborator of Luca Giacomo Schulte This book is made up of contributions by various artists who offer diverse perspectives on Hogheʼs work to create a fragmented portrait of the artist. It is illustrated throughout with a rich collection of archival images by photographer Rosa Frank.
Throwing the Body into the Fight: a Portrait of Raimund Hoghe is co-published by the Live Art Development Agency and Intellect Publishing.
