Trinity Laban teacher composes music score for new film

Douglas Finch, Professor of Piano and Composition at Trinity Laban, has composed the musical score for a new feature film, "Late September" by Jon Sanders. Douglas also plays a small role in the film as a piano playing friend of the family.

Set in a picturesque country house in Kent, "Late September" is a gently compassionate but never sentimental portrait of later life relationships. As Ken and Gillian, married for over thirty years, welcome their guests for Ken's 65th birthday celebrations, a cluster of dormant, resentful sentiments bubbles to the surface, adding further tension to the couple's already strained marriage.

The composition is garnering rave reviews, including this from Michael Church at the Independent:

"Douglas Finch's piano score weaves the scenes together with delicate restraint; the whole thing has the glow and patina of a classic."

"Late September" opens at the ICA on 15 June.
