Vocal alumnus accepted into Dutch opera academy

Grace Carter

Recent MMus graduate Grace Carter has been accepted into the Dutch National Opera Academy (DNOA), and will take up her place in September.

Grace, who has continued her Trinity Laban studies with an advanced Independent Study Program, said: "I'll be studying and performing full opera roles over the two year course which will hopefully then lead towards young artist programmes."

The DNOA is a training course based between Amsterdam and The Hague in the Netherlands. The Academy has only taken six people onto the program for 2014-15.

Grace continued: "I've spent this year working with my teacher Alison Wells on technique and on developing my approach to repertoire from a dramatic point of view. Without Alison I would definitely not have been offered a place at the DNOA. I've been studying with her for just under a year but in that time she has completely transformed my singing."
