Trinity Laban’s annual CoLab festival present Beyond the Keys, an evening of cutting edge works for piano, which features additional instruments, improvisation, sound design and video, on Monday 16 February.
With the piano acting as the main stimulus for the event, pianists and other artists will collaborate together and perform a body of contemporary classical works.
The evening includes pianists Douglas Finch and saxophonist Martin Speake in an improvising duo; Canada’s Noiseborder Ensemble, a group which perform multimedia works; pianists Letizia Michielon, Hiroaki Takenouchi; and one of the foremost interpreters of Morton Feldman’s work, pianist John Tilbury.
Now in its fourth year, CoLab is an event in which 800 Trinity Laban students engage with a wide range of artists and art forms in what is an exceptional curriculum-linked opportunity. CoLab enables students to think and train differently as performers and encourages them to take artistic risks.
Beyond the Keys takes place at the Laban Theatre. Visit the website to book tickets.
