Postgraduate

Trinity Orchestra rehearsal

Our innovative Graduate School places performance and composition in context alongside academic study and research. Our postgraduate programmes will enable you to develop your creative skills and technique to an advanced level and undertake in-depth practice-based research to support your growth as a musician.

With its long history of success our Graduate School is well known for the development of outstanding musicians. As a graduate you will mix with our eminent teaching staff -performers, composers and academics-all of whom have extensive experience in the practical and theoretical study of music. In addition to extensive individual and small group learning opportunities, and in relation to your Principal Study discipline, you will participate in a wide range of performance opportunities with leading conductors, coaches and ensemble directors.

Our postgraduate programmes also offer the opportunity to select from a broad range of bespoke modules, enabling you to tailor your studies to your particular skills, enthusiasms and career aspirations. Employment-related and placement learning opportunities are the key to every one of the choices we offer; and with 97.6% of our graduates in employment or further study within six months of graduation we're sure you'll find an opportunity to suit.

Please see our Graduate School pages for further up-to-date information, including a list of current study options, classes and modules, and the latest news on our new and developing programmes of study.

Heiner Goebbels: Surrogate Cities

"The orchestra was the real star, however, playing with terrific enthusiasm. The percussionists in particular, whirling vertiginously on a gallery above the tiers of musicians below, deserved a medal."
