Filming your work
The One Dance UK website includes an advice sheet with information on the technical issues involved in creating a show reel of dance work. Please note that some of the technical advice will be out of date since this document was not written recently.
Trinity Laban students can borrow a range of cameras from the Laban Library that can be used to record rehearsals and performances (where space for filming allows). You can find out more about the cameras with an online course that will show you how to book the equipment at Trinity Laban's Audio-visual department.
It’s always a good idea to get clearance from all those involved in what you are recording (including costume and lighting designers, as well as performers and choreographers) to allow you to use the recorded footage (search online for "Video Release Forms” for a wide range of examples).
There are also computers equipped with video editing software available in the Laban Library, as well as the AV Edit suite. Email an Audio-Visual Adviser about using these computers.
