This section provides basic information on healthcare while you are studying in the UK.
You may be eligible for medical treatment on the UK National
Health Service (NHS) if:
- you are enrolled on a course of six months or more
- you are an EU national, or you come from a country with a
healthcare agreement with the UK
If you have any doubts about your right to be treated under the
NHS, you should take out suitable health insurance before you
travel to the UK.
Please note that there is a charge for all dental treatment in the
UK. We suggest that you try to arrange for non-urgent dental work
to be completed before you arrive.
You will also have to pay a fixed contribution towards the costs
of any medicines prescribed (currently £6.50), some other GP
services (e.g. vaccinations) and any eye treatment.
