Student Support

Medical, Counselling & Pastoral Support

We have a wide range of support available to give you help when you need it, ranging from practical support on any aspects of your studies to help with issues of an emotional or personal nature. If you need more specialised help, we may be able to refer you to a practitioner through Student Services. We also offer physiotherapy, hypnotherapy and Alexander Technique on site to give you further support with performance-related problems or injuries.

Your one-to-one contact with your Principal Study Professor and your Personal Tutor give you important sources of personal and study support. Your Head of Faculty, Course Leader and the Student Services Department are also here to help you with any problems that may arise.

Your Personal Tutor and Student Adviser offer practical information and advice on housing, finance and social issues, and are available to offer guidance on personal development, emotional issues, health and well being. If something is causing worry or upset, your Personal Tutor is available to provide a confidential listening ear, and can refer you to further support when appropriate and act as a link between you and the institution when required.

We also have experienced counselling and chaplaincy staff for those of you who may need professional help during a difficult period. The Trinity Laban Counsellors are here to help you cope with problems of a more personal or emotional nature. If you find yourself becoming more confused, anxious or depressed about aspects of yourself, your friendships or relationships, family problems, recent or past traumas, eating disorders, low self-esteem or other such difficulties, then it is best to deal with them sooner rather than later. The counselling is free and confidential. (Please note that you must register with a General Practitioner close to where you live during term-time to make sure that you have access to NHS services.)
