Web Accessibility

Trinity Laban aims to ensure that the content of this website can be read by everyone, regardless of the type of technology used and any disabilities that the user has. People with disabilities (such as visual or hearing impairments) are often at a disadvantage when browsing a website because they have not been accounted for in the design of the site. We have endeavoured to make this site accessible to everyone.
Viewing Pages
This website is designed to display best with your monitor set
at screen resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels, but should
display without difficulty at 640 x 480 pixels. Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS) have been used to set the colour, size and layout of
the text within each page.
We have placed hidden links at the top of each page to assist
certain users. These links will be visible in browsers
commonly used for accessibility, but not in standard browsers with
standard settings. The links allow easy access to this page and
also allow users to 'skip to content' without having to read
through all the navigation and headers on each page. These links
can also be accessed with 'Access Keys' ('s' jumps to content, 'a'
jumps to this accessibility page).
Our Aims
Trinity Laban aims to meet level 1 (A), and levels 2 and 3 (AA
& AAA) where possible, of the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C)
Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines on this website and to comply with the UK Disability
Discrimination Act (1995) as amended by the Special Educational
Needs and Disability Act (SENDA) 2001.
However, we have made some informed deviations from the W3C
guidelines based on the advice of bodies such as the Royal National
Institute of the Blind (RNIB) and the Disability Rights
Commissions, for example appropriately tagged tables are used
occasionally in this site for layout purposes (the table content
will always make sense to the reader when linearised). Visual
layout is achieved primarily through style sheets, so users can
apply their own styles to the site as needed.
