Biography

French pianist Jean-Paul Pruna was a Jette Parker Young Artist at the Royal Opera House from 2010 to 2012. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the National Opera Studio and is a Samling Artist.

He was répétiteur for the Royal Opera House for over fifteen productions working with Antonio Pappano, Colin Davis, Yannick Nezet-Séguin and singers of international renown. He is a regular accompanist for recitals in the Linbury Theatre, Crush Room, Paul Hamlyn Hall and other ROH venues. Since leaving the JPYA Programme, he has worked for many opera companies such as Cape Town Opera, Garsington Opera, Opera Holland Park, Nationale Reisopera, Opéra de Lille, ROH, Classical Opera Company, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Barcelona Liceu, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Glyndebourne Festival.

He has performed in many London venues including King’s Place, the Barbican and the Wigmore Hall, and has toured extensively through France, Spain, the Netherlands and South Africa. He coaches the singers on the Jette Parker Programme, on the Academy of French Song and Opera and on the Samling Academy.
