Louise, who originally trained as a singer, has interests in Critical Pedagogy and the arts in Higher Education; inclusive pedagogical practices and Widening Participation in the arts; the role of the arts in medical education; and the neoliberalisation of social justice and its impact on Higher Education. In 2013, she was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy, the highest award for teaching in Higher Education.

At Trinity Laban, Louise contributes to the teaching on the BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance and in particular works with undergraduates to develop their independent creative projects. Additionally, Louise works with doctoral researchers on the training programme Preparing to Teach, which introduces them to key practices in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. For teaching staff, Louise is responsible for the support provided for colleagues to obtain Higher Education Academy recognition. Louise has previously taught a range of practice-based and contextual topics including: Asian Musical Theatre; Jazz and the Modern Musical; Composing for Dance; Devising Music Theatre; Community and Participatory Music and Musical Theatre practices.
