Andrea was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Birmingham, UK. Andrea established herself on the London jazz scene working with GRP recording artist Phil Bent, bass legend Dill Katz, Jazz warrior David-Jean Baptiste, Kathy Stobart, Alan Barnes, Don Weller and Dick Pearce etc. Her own bands have featured sax players Julian Arguelles, Mornington Lockett and Tim Garland; plus drummers Brian Spring, Tristan Mailliot, and Brian Abrahams. She played a successful season at London's ‘Bass Clef’ club with the late US sax innovator, Eddie Harris and gigged with trumpet legend Art Farmer. A prolific composer, she has been commissioned by the Arts Council, the BBC, Jazz Umbrella, the Peter Whittingham trust, and completed a setting of the poetry of A.E Housman for the Ludlow festival, released on the CD New Perspectives.

Andrea founded the Dordogne Jazz Summer School in 2001 and has taught on the Essex Jazz Summer School since 1998.
