Joanna Gamper completed a one year foundation in Dance Performance at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance before moving to the University of Brighton to study a BA (Hons) in Dance and Visual Arts Practice - specialising in dance film making. Following a number of years working in television, Joanna went on to train at Laban, gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Dance in Community. She worked as a freelance community dance practitioner (working in particular with young disabled dancers and hard to reach youth) up until 2007, when she was appointed as Laban’s Education and Community Dance Practitioner; specialising in boys dance and integrated dance practice (as well as teaching classes for Laban’s youth and outreach programmes)

At the end of 2008 Joanna joined Sadler’s Wells associate’s Jonzi D Productions as their Education Manager, where she helped to establish a new education and CDP programme for the company, before moving to Green Candle Dance Company as their Education Manager; a role that comprised both the management and delivery of the company’s community dance work.

Joanna is now a Project Manager for Laban’s Learning & Participation Department, looking after the Youth Programme, Primary School work, Dance and Health and hard to reach projects.
