Liz has been working in the education and community sector since 2000, initially as an Executive Officer at Birkbeck College London administering courses for adults in Dance, Opera, Acting, Drama and Theatre Studies and Lifelong Learning before becoming the Manager of the Evening Classes and Short Courses for Adults at The Place, London.

She was appointed as the Courses Manager at Trinity Laban in January 2005. In 2010 she became Programme Manager for Learning and Participation (Dance) Trinity Laban. Liz is responsible for the overall planning, management, co-ordination and administration of short courses eg Summer Schools, a weekly programme of community based classes, including Adult Evening Classes and Saturday Children’s Classes, international visits to Trinity Laban, The Franklin Method Teacher Training Course, Relatedness in Motion (short-course in Choreolgical Studies) and Professional Development. Liz is currently a Staff Representative on Trinity Laban's Board of Govenors.

Liz Atkin is also an established visual artist based in London. She completed a Masters in European Dance Theatre Practice with Distinction from Trinity Laban in 2007. Skin is her primary source for corporeal art, both as metaphorical membrane and physical boundary. Her award winning work has been exhibited in London, Los Angeles and Japan. London exhibitions include APT Gallery, Camden People's Theatre, Siobhan Davies Studios, Blackheath Halls, and in curated group shows for Parallax AF Pall Mall, Showcase Cities, and Rich Mix.

Liz's artwork will be exhibited in a solo show at Bethlem Gallery in Bethlem Royal Hospital from 20 February - 15 March 2013.

  • 2010 Havelock Walk - Liz joined Havelock Walk, a mews at the heart of Forest Hill London, containing some of the oldest local buildings in the area. Situated off what was once the Croydon Canal, it is now home to a multitude of creative practitioners working in the many and varied fields of the Visual Arts. Established some 15 years ago by the internationally renowned sculptor, Jeff Lowe, Havelock Walk is a creative live/work hub and now houses many artists producing works in the various media of painting, photography, sculpture, installation, printmaking, glassworks and ceramics. It is also home to a theatre and music school, Havelock Walk, Forest Hill London
