Robert Bottriell

Born on the Isle of Wight, Robert studied at the University of Exeter and the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) as well as Guildhall School of Music & Drama (GSMD). Robert is a freelance Musical Director, repetiteur, accompanist and vocal coach, and has worked for companies including English National Opera (ENO), Royal Opera House, ROH2, Opera East, British Youth Opera, Tête à Tête Opera, Unexpected Opera, Iford Arts and Northern Ireland Opera. Robert is a vocal coach at GSMD, the Royal College of Music (RCM), Co-Director of Postgraduate Opera Scenes at Trinity Laban, visiting coach and repetiteur for ENO Opera Works, RAM and RCM, workshop leader for Glyndebourne Touring Opera’s Education and orchestral pianist for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO).

In 2009 Robert was appointed Trainee Répétiteur at ENO and remains on their freelance music staff. In 2013 he conducted La traviata and Carmen for Opera À La Carte & Regents Opera, before joining Opera Brava as Musical Director in 2015.
